Degree Audit: BI in Digital Filmmaking
These are most of the classes I took to get my degree and a few others I deemed important to how I work now. Most of these classes are from University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and a few, last few at the bottom, are from Pikes Peak Community College. I listed some as "Co-Vid Class" because those classes blend together in my mind because it was the first time all my classes were delivered remotely. I don't remember exactly what made them so special to me, but they were a new challenge to me.
COMM 2240 Leadership Theory & Practice
This class was part of the first semester hit by co-vid 19 for me, the challenge was
how do I adapt to my first ever time having remote online classes.
COMM 2270 Sports and Studio TV Production
This was the first semester back at UCCS after co-vid 19. Unfortunately for me, none
of the sports were back yet to record, therefore we focused more on the studio tv
production part.
COMM 3000 UCCS Television Workshop-The Bluffs: Studio
My first experience filming with high level equipment, outside. Got to see more tricks
how to keep a camera balanced to get steady shots.
COMM 3000 UCCS Television Workshop-The Bluffs: Writing
First time writing as a team on a story. The challenge was getting your ideas out and
taking criticism while justifying if it was fair criticism.
COMM 3100 Directing for Film and Television
The most hands on and trust I felt out of any of the filmmaking courses.
Responsibility was 100% on my shoulders for projects I put out there. I was
challenged in trying to relay how I pictured something to people who are unaware of
it at first.
COMM 3250 Principals and Practices of Advertising
Co-Vid Class
COMM 3300 Screen-writing
Learned how to write a script. More importantly I got firsthand experience on why a
script is written in the technical way. I got to see why/how something is written in a
sort of way so the reader can picture it faster and easier.
COMM 3400 Digital Communication Technologies
Co-Vid Class
ENTP 1000 Introduction to Entrepre-neurship
Co-Vid Class
INOV 1010 The Innovation Process
Co-vid Class
BLAW 2010 Business & Intellectual Property Law
I believe this is the class I was challenged in the most. However, it forced myself into taking
better notes, learning how a patent works, and not being so easily intimidated by work
I don’t understand.
INOV 2010 Technical Writing, Proposals & Presentations
o I Will Projects
o Cheryl Anderson (719) 778-6558
o Our job was to enhance their social media presence through short videos and
animations.
o I was contracted on through I Will Projects to animate further videos.
INOV 3010 Innovation Team: Design and Lead
Ape Lock
o Gordon Breecher – gordon.breecher@gmail.com
o Design a raspberry pi that was capable of dysfunction of a car until the driver
passes a blow test then locking their phone into a box while driving.
o Gordon Breecher applied for a patent on that idea.
INOV4010 Innovation Team: Design and Lead
Spirit Art 1111
o Andrew Muckler – gordon.breecher@gmail.com
o Shot an professional level interview as well as start up a new site for Mr. Muckler to sell his art on. Finally we finished with editing the interveiw for Mr. Muckler.
o Mr. Muckler had asked about continuing to work on projects after the class has finished.
GEOL 1999 Geology of National Parks
Learned what life was like before humans, what humans used to do to the Earth, and
where dinosaurs roamed.
PES 1050 General Astronomy I
Got a real sense on how things were discovered in the sky. Also learned some
equations the astronomers.
COMM 2100 Public Speaking
Had a real fear of this, and I still do, but this class made me do it. As long as I can, I
can be scared to do it, but I at least know I can if I have to.
VA 2130 Beginning Painting
Never actually painted outside of cheap painting supplies, but I got to see some
techniques that I actually use now to animate.
VA 1040 Beginning Drawing
Never had I actually taken a class to learn how to draw better, but this was the first
time. The teacher was a very accomplished man, and I wish I knew more about
animating when I had him.
VA 2010 Intermed Drawing
I was in a class where I was arguably the worst artist, and I loved that. Seeing others
works make me want to improve mine that much more.
VA 1999 Watercolor
Never had used watercolor before, but it was a new world on its own. Mixing the
colors, in my opinion was more crucial in watercolor then painting.
MUS 1999 Music Class I
This class was part of the first semester hit by co-vid 19 for me, the challenge was
how do I adapt to my first ever time having remote online classes.
